River Clyde
EnviroCentre provided specialist sediment consultancy support to Peel Ports with respect to application for a dredging licence for maintenance dredging of the River Clyde.
EnviroCentre designed the sediment sampling exercise and undertook the works utilising the in-house Teamwork boat. Subsequently EnviroCentre produced the sediment assessment report and associated Best Practicable Environmental Options report and application information for provision to Marine Scotland.
Regular dredging of the River Clyde began in 1872 and the current maintenance dredge is an integral function to ensuring the river remains navigable for vessels. As the River Clyde forms an integral part of Glasgow’s industrial heritage and a focal point for the city’s redevelopment, EnviroCentre are proud to have provided environmental support to Peel Ports to ensure ongoing maintenance to the river.
